Shopping around for germinate cannabis seeds? Save yourself the guesswork: this is the short, honest version of what to know before adding anything to your cart.

Method 1 – The glass of water

Drop seeds into a glass of room-temperature water (about 20–22°C). Within 12–48 hours viable seeds sink and crack, showing a tiny white root. Transfer carefully to soil at first sign of the root — do not wait for long tails in water.

Method 2 – Paper towel

Place seeds between two moist (not soaked) paper towels, inside a plate sandwich or sealed container. Keep at 21–25°C, check moisture twice daily. Most seeds open within 24–72 hours. Plant root-down 5–10mm deep once the tail appears.

Method 3 – Direct into soil

Poke a 5–10mm hole, drop the seed in, cover loosely, mist (do not flood). Nature handles the rest — no transplant shock. Keep the medium warm and gently moist; seedlings surface within 3–7 days.

Mistakes that kill germination

Cold temperatures (below 20°C), drowning (constant saturation), touching the white root with dry fingers, planting too deep, and old poorly stored seeds. Fresh seeds from the Feminized Seeds shop, kept cool and dark, germinate at 90%+ rates. Always check your local laws before germinating.
