What ‘melt’ actually measures
Melt describes how cleanly hash vaporises. Full melt grades bubble and disappear almost entirely, leaving no ash — proof of nearly pure resin. Half melt leaves residue; cooking grade chars. The cleaner the melt, the higher the refinement.
The home tests
Pin test: hash on a heated pin should bubble evenly, not spark. Vaporiser test: premium grades melt and flow at 180–210°C without crackling. Ash test after burning: white-grey fine ash is good; hard black residue means contamination.
Why purity costs
To reach full-melt purity, producers sacrifice enormous yield — kilos of starting material for a few hundred grams of six-star sift. You are paying for the material that was thrown away, and for the terpenes that survived.
